Here's three pieces of advice I would give to my 20-year-old self:
Number one, the music industry is a young person's game. So you haven't got a long period of time. So don't go around trying to be everything. Don't be the mix engineer, the mastering engineer, the singer, the songwriter, the marketing guy, just focus on one thing. Then you'll be six times better at doing the one thing that you wanna do and you want to do well.
Number two, you've got all this time in your hands. You don't have children. You don't have family. You have a part-time job. It's your time to network. Get out there, get meeting people because it's not what you know, it's who you know.
Number three, nobody cares apart from you about what you are doing in your life. Nobody. So don't worry what people think. Release your music, get it out there. And if you can keep that mindset throughout your life, you're gonna do great. Because everyone's worried what other people think and it stops them in their tracks. Don't worry about it. It doesn't matter. Nobody cares.
